HESSTON GIRLS 53, HOISINGTON 36 – Hesston all-stater Kendal Brueggen dominated with her speed and athleticism with a 20-point night, a pair of 3-pointers and steals that sparked a 53-36 Central Kansas League basketball victory. Kaycee Mason contributed 15 points with nine free throws.

The Swathers (13-1, 3-0 CKL) outscored the Cardinals 33-12 in the first and fourth quarters.

Hoisington (9-4, 0-2 CKL) was led by Mallory Mooney and Kelsi Maier with eight points apiece. The Cardinals outscored Hesston 24-10 in the second and third quarters. The Cardinals converted five 3-pointers.

HESSTON 48, HOISINGTON 27 – Hesston's Adrian Hernandez scored 13 points and Gonzalez and Unruh added eight apiece as the Swathers downed Hoisington 48-27 in Tuesdays Central Kansas League basketball game. Hesston's aggressive defense shut down the Cardinals.

Tony Moore scored 13 points for the Cardinals (7-6, 0-2 CKL).

"Hesston took our space at both ends of the floor, and we didn't like it," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. "We'll get better because of it."

MACKSVILLE  36, LA CROSSE 28–  Macksville's Kambry Adams dominated inside with 14 points to spark the Mustangs past La Crosse 36-28 n Tuesday's Central Prairie League basketbal game. Mayce Russell added six points. 

La Crosse trailed 29-10 with 61/2 minutes left before outscoring the Mustangs 18-7 with a trio of 3-pointers. Madison Morgan led La Crosse (7-5, 3-2 CPL) with eight points.

LA CROSSE 69, MACKSVILLE 48 – La Crosse (10-2, 5-0 CPL) roared to a 44-29 halftime lead and coasted past Macksville 59-48 in Tuesday's Central Prairie League showdown.

Macksville's Diego Esparza contributed 23 points, four steals and three assists. Kendall Grippin added 10 points for Macksville (8-5, 2-2 CPL), which shot 32% from the field and 3 of 20 (15%) from 3-point range.

CENTRAL PLAINS GIRLS 43, OTIS-BISON 22 – Central Plains' Marilyn Soeken scored 17 points to spark the Oilers past Otis-Bison 43-22 in Tuesday's Central Prairie League basketball game.

The Oilers erased an 11-9 deficit with a 13-3 second period. The Oilers rolled through the second half for a 21-point win. The Oilers face league rival St. John Friday at home. 

"The second half was much better," said Oiler coach Pat Stiles. "We settled into our offense, had patience, and found good looks.” 

Hope Lumpkins led Otis-Bison (5-9, 0-3 CPL) with seven points.

CENTRAL PLAINS 71, OTIS-BISON 31 – Central Plains Oiler Brodie Crites scored a career high 26 points and Peyton Ryan added 19 points in a 71-31 Central Prairie League victory over Otis-Bison. The Oilers (10-3, 3-0 CPL) converted seven 3-pointers. The Oilers featured nine scorers and two players in double digits. 

“Brodie and Peyton shot the ball really well tonight,” said Oiler coach Michael Ryan. “When you’re able to score like that it makes the game go a lot smoother.” 

The Oilers (10-3, 3-0 CPL) face St. John Friday.

The Tigers (3-10) placed Davin Hamby (15), Clayton Hammeke (10) in double figures.

VICTORIA 40, ELLINWOOD 38 – Ellinwood's Landon Simpson converted three free throws and Mason Moore added two free throws, but the Eagles' Simpson missed a final tying attempt and the Eagles failed to launch a game-tying shot after grabbing a last-second rebound in a 40-38 Central Prairie League basketball setback to Victoria.

Victoria survived when Quincy Pickering made two free throws and Will Scherrer added two free throws in the final minute.

VICTORIA GIRLS 51, ELLINWOOD 48 – Ellinwood's girls converted a dozen 3-pointers to outscore Victoria 36-0 from long range. But Victoria outscored the Eagles 42-4 on 2-pointers for a hard-fought 51-48 Central Prairie basketball victory. The Eagles missed two chances for a tie as time wound down.

Ellinwood's Bennett Jacobs was red hot with 20 points and Reese Stickney added 16 points as they combined for 10 3-pointers.  

Victoria's Kennidy Amrein (19), Averi Windholz (17) and Lichter (13) scored in double figures. Amrein scored a trio of key fourth-quarter baskets.
