HODGEMAN CO. 52, ST. JOHN 6

ST. JOHN — St. John's Daniel Portillo prevented a shutout with a 22-yard touchdown run in a 52-6 District  football loss to Jetmore Hodgeman County (6-0, 3-0).

Longhorn quarterback Levi Lang threw for 97 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 43 yards. Tyson Klotz rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 12-yard reception. Jesse Smith scored three touchdowns on receptions for 56 yards. Julian Miramontes caught a 5-yard touchdown pass.

Klotz intercepted two Braxton Alpers passes and Coy Deniston recovered a fumble. Cole Norton had 11 tackles.  

Stafford plays at St. John (2-4, 0-2 District) Oct. 18.
