LEE SUMMIT, Mo. – Great Bend Quicksilver finished runner-up with a 6-1 record before losing 9-5 to Carl Junction, Mo. in the Lee Summit softball tournament. Quicksilver (18-4) qualified for the championship game with back-to-back shutouts. Carl Junction sports a 22-2 summer record.
CARL JUNCTION. MO. 9, QUICKSILVER 5 (CHAMPIONSHIP) – Carl Junction’s Karlee McCallister homered and drove home four runs in a 9-run first inning.
Quicksilver’s Kya Behr drilled a 3-run double to score Halle Post, Camo Post and Josie Blevins. Katherine Mazouch doubled home Behr. Alyssa McCauley scored on a bases-loaded walk.
QUICKSILVER 6, CHAOS 0 – Quicksilver pitcher Chayla Prendergast threw a 1-hit shutout. Halle Post and Camo Post each delivered 2-run singles. Denver Ringo and McCauley hit RBI doubles.
QUICKSILVER 4, WICHITA RENEGADES 0 – Quicksilver pitchers Braelyn Turner and McCauley combined for a 2-hit shutout. Halle Post, Camo Post, Kamryn Koelsch and Rylee Prilling drove home runs.
QUICKSILVER 5, MONETT, MO. BULLPEN 3 – Quicksilver’s Kya Behr doubled home Turner and McCauley with the game-winning runs. Prendergast, Ringo and Camo Post delivered RBIs.
QUICKSILVER 10, KC STARS 2 – Quicksilver’s Mazouch drove in five runs with a single and double to spark the victory. Ringo and Prilling each drove home two runs.
QUICKSILVER 5, MANHATTAN COBRAS 1 – Quicksilver’s Prilling and Halee Post each drove in two runs. Pitcher Prendergast struck out six batters and permitted three hits.
QUICKSILVER 14, BULLPEN RAMAEKER 6 – Quicksilver’s Behr singled, doubled, tripled and drove home three runs. Camo Post drove home three runs with three singles. Halle Post drove in two runs.
