Quicksilver softball wins national title
BRANSON, Mo. — The Quicksilver 12-and-under fastpitch softball team won 10 consecutive games to capture the USSSA Class C National Championships Juy 10 at Branson, Mo. Quicksilver edged Crossfire, Okla. 7-6 to capture the 40-team tournament representing 12 states. Quicksilver enjoyed a magical weekend with five 1-run victories.
Quicksilver (44-9) finished ranked No. 1 in Kansas and No. 1 nationally in the USSSA rankings.
Quicksilver pitcher Chayla Prendergast, the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player, compiled a 7-0 record and struck out 55 batters in 24 innings. No. 2 pitcher Adelle Smith (3-0) struck out 15 batters in 15 innings.

Adalie Kippes, Brooklynn Kelly, Baylie Kelly, Jaya Stroup and Jimena Montes rounded out the team with stellar defensive plays and timely hitting.
