Hoisington girls 54, Ellinwood 15

LARNED — Hoisington’s girls scored 26 consecutive points and rolled past Ellinwood 54-15 Monday in the Gene Keady Basketball Classic. Rylie Koester paced the Cardinals with 20 points and Emma Harmon added 11 points.
The Eagles led 4-2 before the Cardinals scored 26 straight points for a 28-4 lead. The Cardinals led 34-9 at halftime by converting 21 Ellinwood turnovers into 19 transition points.
The Cardinals (1-1) will play Kiowa County in Friday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal. Brittney Beck and Madison Ward led Ellinwood with six points apiece. The Eagles play Larned at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

LARNED — Larned’s Kelsey Parr scored 16 points as the Indians lost 46-37 to Kiowa County in Monday’s Gene Keady Basketball Classic. The Indians will play in Thursday’s consolation round.
Larned’s Haley Skelton added 13 points. The Indians outscored the Mavericks 26-21 in the second half. The Indians play Ellinwood at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
McKenzie Heft led the Mavericks with 17 points. Kiowa County plays Hoisington in Friday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal.

LARNED — Cameron Davis scored a career high 19 points to spark Hoisington past Barton County rival Ellinwood 46-34 in the Gene Keady Basketball Classic.
The Cardinals (1-1) led 14-0 after one quarter and 27-14 at halftime. The Cardinals play Larned in Friday’s 7:15 p.m. semifinal.
Tyson Martinez paced Ellinwood with 15 points. The Eagles play Kiowa county at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

LARNED — Larned’s Jordan Zimmerman clinched a 48-43 victory over Kiowa County with a driving layup in the Gene Keady Basketball Classic. The Indians play Hoisington in Friday’s 7:15 p.m. semifinal.
Zimmerman’s basket gave the Indians a 44-38 lead, but Frank Cuevas and Davis scored baskets around two Isiah Perez free throws for a 46-43 score. Zimmerman broke upcourt and scored the clinching basket for a 17-point night. Kiowa County plays Ellinwood at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
