The Great Bend Recreation Commission and Great Bend Optimist Club will sponsor a Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run qualifying contest at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Sports Complex.

Age divisions for boys and girls are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14.

Registration starts at 5:30 p.m.

Each competitor will earn five swings off a tee that will be measured, five pitches to a designated target and two times runs from home to first base.

Bats will be provided though athletes may use their own bat. Top finishers will advance to the regional level of competition.
