Central Plains Oiler Peyton Ryan hits a return at the 3-1A state tennis championship.

ELLSWORTH TOURNAMENT

ELLSWORTH — Central Plains Oiler Peyton Ryan, last year's 3-1A state runner-up, cruised past Ellinwood's Evan Ringwald 8-1 to capture the No. 1 singles title at the Ellsworth Tennis Tournament. The Oilers (56) edged Ellsworth (55) for first place.

The Oilers' No. 2 doubles tandem of Peyton Dody/Eli Hurley downed Ellsworth's Anthony Halbgwachs/Guage Weber, 8-1 in the championship match. 

Ellinwood's No.2 singles Cole Ringwald downed Central Plains Oiler Hunter Klima, 8-4 for first place.

Ellsworth's No. 1 doubles Brendan Anderson/Chase Bourbon defeated Salina Sacred Heart's Tom Cheney/Sean Riordan, 8-0 for first place.
