Panthers compete at McPherson tennis

MCPHERSON — Great Bend's singles Aiden Stacey and doubles Jacob Parks/Kia Brit both placed 11th at Tuesday's windswept McPherson tennis invitational.

Stacey (2-2) downed Salina South's Kettler Fullen 8-6 and Parks/Brit (2-2) beat McPherson's Bryson Butcher/Alex Berger 8-7 (8-6) for 11th place.

Salina South's Dylan Norris downed Panther Aaron Rameriez 8-3 for 13th place. Hays High's Christian Miller/Maddox Zimmerman, defeated Panthers Chason Ramsey/Manual Gamon 8-3 for 15th place.

"I was happy that all our returning players got some wins," said Great Bend coach Chris Manning. "Our No. 2 doubles team is new. They played well together. It was a very blustery day."

Winfield (49) won the team title. Great Bend (16) placed eighth.

Great Bend will host a home tennis tournament April 12.
