Liberal's girls won six of seven contested matches to edge No. 10 ranked Great Bend 39-36 in Thursday's Western Athletic Conference wrestling dual match. Liberal's girls earned the first WAC dual match victory in school history.

No. 2 ranked Daizy Gomez (130) pinned Liliana Santiago (2:41) for the Panthers' only contested victory. 

Panthers Braelyn Turner (120), No. 4 Kayle McMullen (125), Josephine Blevins (145), Danica Cline (155) and Kirra Stevens (170) earned forfeit wins.

Liberal won a pair of battles between state-ranked wrestlers. No. 4 ranked Isabela Gutierrez pinned No. 6 Camdyn Post (3:07); and No. 1 Hayleen Martinez pinned No. 4 Natalee Daniels (0:52).
