Panther wrestler places runner-up

NEWTON -- Great Bend's Micah Ellegood (17-11, 125) finished runner-up with a loss to Garden City's No. 1 ranked Crystal Loera (1:47) in the championship match at the Newton Wrestling Tournament.

Great Bend (131 points) placed fourth. No. 2 ranked Garden City (283.5) won the team championship.

No. 2 ranked Camdyn Post (22-4, 105) finished third with a pin over Andover's Trinity Williams (0:26). 

No. 6 ranked Sophia Bauer (14-12, 100) placed fourth with a 16-0 loss to Douglass' Ginger Landis.

Brooklyn Kelly (21-11, 130) placed fifth with a victory over Manhattan's Eleanor Radi (2:12) after losing to No. 1 ranked Blue Valley Southwest's Karoline Kendall (1:53).

No. 3 ranked Kirra Stevens (22-7. 170) placed fifth with a win over over Eureka's Harlie Owings (4:14).
