OTIS-BISON 40, PAWNEE HEIGHTS 19

OTIS – Otis-Bison quarterback Jake Hoopingarner passed for three touchdowns to spark a 40-19 6-man football victory over Pawnee Heights.

Cougars Kelson Juno, Angel Flores and Logan Maier caught scoring passes from Hoopingarner.

KINSLEY 64, ST. JOHN 58 (3 OT)

ST. JOHN – Kinsley’s Josh Stucky scored his fourth touchdown in the third overtime for a 64-58 victory over St. John in one of the wildest shootouts in St. John football history. Kinley (2-1) lost last week to Macksville on the last play of the game.

St. John (2-1) rallied from two touchdown twice to force overtime 44-44 on Jace Reyes’ 20-yard touchdown pass from Braxton Alpers. The 2-pointer for the victory failed.

Both teams matched 14 points in the first two overtimes. St. John’s Braxton Alpers and Reyes scored overtime touchdowns. Stucky and Emilio Rodriguez scored Kinsley’s overtime touchdowns.

SCOTT CITY 29, HOISINGTON 7

SCOTT CITY – Scott City rolled a 22-0 halftime lead and handed Hoisington its third consecutive loss 29-7. The Cardinals (0-3) play Southwestern Heights next week.

Scott City quarterback Camden Vulgamore rushed for 75 yards, scored a rushing touchdown and threw for 182 yards. He completed a 77-yard scoring strike to Alex Tarango and a 46-yard scoring pass to Jackson Rumford.

The Cardinals played better football after halftime. Rhen Galls scored on a 9-yard run to convert a 92-yard drive. Carson Mason blocked a first-half field goal. Mason Martin intercepted a pass, but went three-and-out. The Cardinals recovered a fumble and reached the Beaver 5-yard line before turning the ball over on downs.

The Cardinals missed leading rusher Taylen Morales (109 yards) with a late-game injury.

“We have zero room for error and we’re making a ton of mistakes,” said Hoisington coach Zach Baird.
