ELLSWORTH – Central Plains Oiler No. 1 singles Peyton Ryan stayed unbeaten by winning the Ellsworth Tennis Invitational. Ryan defeated Wichita Classical’s Max Kice 8-5 for the championship after downing Fairfield’s Jarod Bauman 8-0 and Hoisington’s Chris Collier, 8-0.
Finishing third were Hoisington’s No. 1 doubles Evan Foltz/Chase Maier, who defeated Abilene’s Isaac Barbieri/Eli Prater 8-6. Central Plains’ No. 2 doubles Nethan Cauthon/Isiah Jensen placed third with an 8-7 (7-3) victory over Concordia’s Andy Henderson/Brett Rosenbaum.
Wichita Classical (63) finished first and Abilene (55) placed second.
