MACKSVILLE 64, STAFFORD 48 — Macksville busted loose from a tight game with a 24-point fourth quarter as Diego Esparza (26) and Nolan Adams (26) combined for 52  points in a hard-fought 64-48 victory over Stafford in a battle between Stafford County basketball rivals.

Adams grabbed 15 rebounds. Esparza dished out five assists with five steals. Kendall Grippin had four assists.

The No. 7 ranked 1A Mustangs (5-1) led 40-37 after three periods.

Stafford's red-hot Pablo Diaz scored 27 points and Jacob Simmons chipped in nine points.

Peyton Roush led Stafford (2-4) with 11 points.
