Larned's Tims ties for 14th

EMPORIA — Larned's Erin Tims 181 (94-87) tied for 14th medalist and Ariana Meyer 190 (99-91) tied for 32nd place at the 3-1A girls state golf championship. 

Atwood Rawlins County's Amelia Bowles birdied the 18th hole (147, 71-76) to edge Wichita Collegiate's 3-time state champion Margaret Ulrich (148, 72-76). Ulrich bogeyed the 18th hole. Bowles' great grandfather Lyle Bowles (147, 71-76) won the grass greens state title in 1941.

State champion Pittsburg Colgan (718) edged defending champion Silver Lake (718) on a fifth-player tiebreaker score.
