LARNED — Larned's Legion baseball team (5-7) swept Dodge City 9-3 and 7-2 in Thursday's doubleheader.

LARNED 9, DODGE CITY 3 (G1) — Larned's Carson Shaver struck out 13 batters while yielding no earned runs. 

Cayden Shaver doubled in Tristan Regan and Deacon Martin scored on an Andres Martinez sacrifice fly in a 2-run first inning.  Anthony Gonzales doubled home Mason Miller in the second inning. Regan stole home on a third-inning double steal.

Regan's 2-run double scored Hunter Hobbs and Carson Shaver after Hobbs and Carson Shaver singled home runs in a 4-run fourth inning for an 8-1 lead. Carson Shaver singled in Corbyn Nance in the sixth inning.

Dodge City's Mars Ruiz delivered an RBI single and Jace Gifford scored on an error. 

LARNED 7, DODGE CITY 2 (G2) — Larned busted the game open with a 7-run first inning. Larned pitcher Regan struck out four batters.

Regan doubled home Carson Shaver. Regan scored on a wild pitch. Ty Smith scored on Miller's bases-loaded walk. Martinez and Gonzales scored on wild pitches. Nance scored on Carson Shaver's double for a 7-0 lead.
