LARNED — Halstead's softball team swept Larned 7-5 and 18-3 in Friday's Central Kansas League doubleheader.

Halstead (10-5, 9-4 CKL) drops Larned to 3-12, 1-10 CKL.

HALSTEAD 7, LARNED 5 (G1) — Larned rallied from a 7-2 deficit keyed by Eowyn Hedding's 3-run double, but fell short.

Hedding's double scored Emma Nelson, Jozlyn Mead and Gillian Smith. Nelson's third-inning single scored Brileigh Stahlecker and Jadyn Crosby.

Halstead's Thea Boese drove in two runs. Addison Thompson, Quinn Conard, Katharine Engel and Addie Mabry drove home runs. Pitcher Conard permitted two runs in five innings.

HALSTEAD 18, LARNED 3 (G2) — Halstead's Onnyka Nedich drove in five runs with three hits and scored four runs.

Boese homered and drove in three runs. Thompson drove in three runs. Conard homered.

Larned's Stahlecker, Brooke Simmons and Kendra Marvin drove home runs.
