HAYS — The Great Bend Middle School seventh-grade girls highlighted the Hays Invitational cross country meet with a first-place finish.
The Panthers were paced by medalist Darcy Feist (6:27.67) followed by 10th-place Diane Alvarez (7:07.07) and 15th-place Marissa Boone (7:19.67) over the 1-mile course.
The Panthers finished runner-up in the eighth-grade girls division featuring four top 10 finishers — fifth-place Addy Nicholson (15:35.62); seventh-place Morgan Beckwith (15:43.7); eighth-place Daizy Gomez (15:44.52) and 10th place Elaina Jackson (15:53.89).
The Great Bend eighth-grade boys were led by 25th-place Brandon Suppes (15:18.63), and 26th-place Kaden Deines (15:23.21).
The GBMS seventh-grace boys placed fourth paced by third-place medalist Kyler Holinde (6:06.71) and 11th-place Trenton Peterson (6:24.6).
