GARDEN CITY – Reigning Western Athletic Conference girls champion Garden City gained quick revenge with an 11-0 dual victory over challenger Great Bend in Tuesday’s rematch. The Panthers surprised the Buffaloes 7-4 Monday at Walnut Bowl. Garden City’s girls owns a 47-8 scoring edge in WAC dual meets.

Perennial WAC boys champion Garden City also dominated 11-0. The Buffaloes own a 52-3 scoring edge in WAC meets.

The Lady Buffs captured the American 10-pin in three tight series showdowns 766-718, 784-750 and 792-759 for a total pin count edge of 2,342 to 2,227. Garden City’s Holly Bridges earned medalist honors (672, 226-217-229) ahead of Great Bend’s Kaylin Wahlmeier (611, 192-224-195). Panther Sahara Rhiza placed fourth (566, 205-168-193).   

Garden City’s girls rolled in Baker games 210-176, 152-131 and 222-179 for a series total of 584-486.

Garden City’s K.J. Burns led the boys division (687, 223-251-213) followed by Garrett Messenger 653 (233-200-220), Ty Weilert (619) and Kaden Strasser (619). 

Great Bend’s Caleb McNett placed sixth (580, 191-188-201) and Jalen Daniels finished seventh (550 (182-182-186). 

Garden City’s boys dominated the Baker games 200-165, 196-131 and 218-187 for a 614-483 advantage. Total pin count was 3,206 to 2,605.
