ELLINWOOD – Russell/Victoria’s baseball team (4-6) rolled past Ellinwood 15-1 and 10-4 in a doubleheader sweep Thursday. Ellinwood (2-6) plays Hays-Thomas More Prep Tuesday.

RUSSELL 15, EAGLES 1 (G1) – Russell’s Wyatt Middleton drilled a grand slam home run to spark a 17-hit Bronco offense. Krug drove in three runs. Russell scored five runs in the fifth inning and added seven runs in the sixth inning. 

Ellinwood’s Cody Knoche reached on an error and scored on a third-inning steal. Ellinwood’s Dylan Gantz and Cooper Hosman singled.

RUSSELL 10, EAGLES 4 (G2) – Ellinwood’s Dylan Gantz tripled and had three hits. Gantz singled home Logan Panning and scored on a first-inning error. Parker Scheck doubled home Chase Gibson and Campbell Coleman in the third inning.

Scheck delivered two hits. Panning, Gibson, Coleman and Knoche had base hits.

Russell’s Andrew Roth drilled a 2-run homer and 2-run single to spark the Broncos. Middleton doubled and drove home three runs. Pitcher Aidan Rohr struck out eight Ellinwood batters.
