Area golfers compete

HUTCHINSON – Ellinwood’s 2A state runner-up Drew Heinz shot 81 and placed 58th Friday at Hutchinson’s Tournament at Carey Park Golf Course. Ellinwood’s Mason Moore (85) tied for 90th against the best golfers in Kansas.

HESSTON TOURNAMENT 4-27  – Drew Heinz (74) placed as seventh medalist (74). Mason Moore (80) placed 20th. Braden Lewis (103) was 80th. Maize South (292) won the team title and Grant Waggoner (68) earned medalist honors.

RUSSELL TOURNAMENT 4-27 – Hoisington’s Landon Wyatt (99) placed 11th to lead area golfers at Russell. Pratt’s Grant McAtee (72) earned medalist honors. Phillipsburg (352) won the team title.
