EMPORIA – Hoisington High's Caiden Hoffman started at defensive nose guard for the West squad in Saturday's 36-25 loss to the East in the 51st Kansas Shrine Bowl. Fort Hays State signee Hoffman recorded one sack and several tackles.

East quarterback Dylan Dunn completed a Shrine Bowl record four touchdown passes to spark a 36-25 victory. The West leads the all-time series 31-18-2.

Blue Valley Southwest's Dunn, a Brigham Young signee, completed 7- and 23-yard scoring passes to Eudora's Adrion Seals, a 25-yard strike to Olathe South's Bryce Noernberg  on fourth down and a 73-yard scoring pass to Olathe West's Elijah Hakim. Brigham Young signee Dunn was named East Most Valuable Player after throwing for 307 yards.

Lyndon's Tanner Heckel scored on a 1-yard run. 

The West scored three second-half touchdowns, but the East responded twice with touchdowns. 

Clay Center's Brody Hayes returned a blocked punt by McPherson's Teegan Haines 20 yards for a touchdown. Liberal quarterback Brooks Kappelman completed a 9-yard scoring pass to Cheney’s Jackson Voth and a 15-yard scoring strike to Haines.

Clay Center's defensive back Brody Hayes earned Most Valuable Player honors for the West.

The East scored 20 consecutive points for a 20-3 halftime lead.
