RUSSELL — Ellinwood pitcher Bennett Jacobs earned two victories to spark a sweep over Russell 19-6 and 8-4 in Thursday's softball doubleheader. 

EAGLES 19, RUSSELL 6 (G1) — Kyndal Moore homered and doubled three times, scored three runs and drove home a career high six runs home. Kennedy Behnke doubled twice, scored two runs and drove home three runs. Jacobs doubled and drove in two runs.

Shyria Quintana, Cambree Erb, Jenaveve Franco and Rylan Allen drove home runs. 

Ellinwood (5-7) scored five runs in the sixth inning and five runs in the seventh inning.

Russell (3-11) was led by Ashlynn Henley with two runs batted in. Jonae Radke, Jamie Toon and Caidyn Dinkel drove in runs.

EAGLES 8, RUSSELL 4 (G2) — Ellinwood's Behnke doubled twice, scored twice and drove home three runs. Jacobs, A Gonzalez and M Bryant also drove home runs.

Pitcher Jacobs struck out four batters and yielded four earned runs.

Russell's Radke drove home two runs and Renya Anshutz drove home a run.

RUSSELL — The Russell Broncos rallied from a 9-0 deficit for an 18-14 victory over Ellinwood to start a sweep in Thursday's baseball doubleheader. Russell dominated the second game 11-1.

RUSSELL 18, EAGLES 14 (G1) — Ellinwood's Banks Jacobs started a 6-RBI game with a 2-run double that led to the Eagles' 9-0 lead. Jacobs scored on Trace Tudor's groundout in a 4-run first inning.

Jacobs delivered a 2-run single to score Drake Hosman and Cohen Gunn in a 5-run second inning. Campbell Coleman and K Link scored on Tudor's groundball that was misplayed. Tudor scored on Cooper Gunn's single for a 9-0 lead.

Ellinwood rebuilt the lead 12-8 with a 3-run third inning. Cade Coleman scored on Cohen Gunn's single. Hosman scored in Campbell Coleman's groundout. Cohen Gunn scored on a Jacobs' sacrifice fly for a 12-8 lead. Hosman scored on Campbell Coleman's groundout and Cohen Gunn scored on a Jacobs seventh-inning single.

Russell (7-5) featured a balanced offense. Sam Thielen, Max Evans and Jared Ford each drove home three runs. Brayden Schmidt, Mason Rohr and Wyatt Griffin each drove in two runs.

RUSSELL 11, EAGLES 1 (G2) —  Russell's Max Evans struck out 11 batters while yielding seven hits. Evans and Griffin each drove home two runs. Brayden Schmidt, Thielen and Rohr each drove in a run.

Ellinwood's Cohen Gunn scored on a third-inning Jacobs' groundball.
