Daxton Minton (also known as Kale Kern) was a 1-man wrecking crew for the Great Bend Braves Legion baseball team.

Minton batted 5-for-6 with eight runs batted to spark the Braves past Dodge City 16-1 and 14-4 in Wednesday's doubleheader at the Great Bend Sports Complex.

After misplacing his jersey, Minton wore Kale Kern's No. 7 jersey with KERN on the shirt, perhaps confusing Dodge City's scouting report on Minton with Kale Kern.

Since baseball players are superstitious, Minton might be wearing KERN until his hot streak ends.

There was no initial report whether Braves coach Brady Michel would require Minton to run extra laps for misplacing his jersey.

BRAVES 16, DODGE CITY 1 (G1) — The Braves scored 16 runs after trailing 1-0. Minton drove in four runs with two hits.

Carson Poe and Eli Contreras hit RBI singles before Minton ripped a 2-run single for a 4-1 lead.

Dodge City passed out six walks and hit a batter in a 12-run third inning. Trenton Kern hit an RBI triple. Aiden Hekele delivered a 2-run double. Contreras, Trey Milsap and Poe added RBIs. Minton's 2-run triple was followed by a 2-run double by Soupiset that ended the ballgame on a 15-run rule.

BRAVES 14, DODGE CITY 4 (G2) — Minton started by stealing home, delivered a 2-run single and finished with three hits, three runs scored and four RBIs. Hekele (1-0) recorded five outs in relief of Minton to earn the victory.

Minton and Milsap forced home runs on bases-loaded second inning walks.

Minton and Peyden Oelger drilled 2-run singles to spark a 6-run fourth inning. Trenton Kern hit a sacrifice fly. Hekele hit an RBI single for a 9-4 lead after four innings.

Minton, Milsap and Slade Mohr hit RBI singles in a 5-run fifth inning. Oelger's groundball scored Mohr. Milsap scored on a passed ball for a 14-4 run-rule victory.
