Great Bend’s American Legion baseball director Darrin Hall has worked with Bombers baseball coach Mike Minton for a combined baseball team that will be eligible for postseason Legion play. A downsized schedule reflects a collaboration that allows postseason play.

“The two local baseball organizations are excited about a partnership to continue the tradition of American Legion baseball in the Great Bend area,” Hall said. “Both organizations are making a commitment to work together to find future success.”

Hall said the landscape of summer baseball has changed regionally and in the local community.

“Bombers Baseball and American Legion Post 180 are striving to utilize both sets of resources to help local youth get the best opportunities,” Hall said.  “Combining the Bombers 15-under team with local players to have a Legion team will be fantastic.
