Kansas Senators urged to block President-elect Trump’s nominees

To the editor:

An open letter to U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall:

I don’t know whether you realize it or not, but you are the only thing standing between the American people and the U.S. Constitution, and the establishment of a dictatorship by the incoming Trump administration. It is clear to anyone with eyes to see, ears to hear, and a brain to think that this man’s sole ambition is the complete and utter destruction of the United States of America. Look at the dismal and appalling list of unqualified, inexperienced, politically ignorant people he has nominated to fill critical positions in his administration. Their only “qualification” for any position in government is their loyalty to him and him alone. How could any sane person confirm ANY of these people?

You did nothing when he incited an insurrection in 2020. You’ve joined your fellow senators in allowing him to tell you what to do and how to vote, to the detriment of this nation and its citizens. When will you stand up to him and tell him that enough is enough? When will you hold him accountable? When will you enforce the U.S. Constitution? Will you NOW exercise the power given to you by the Constitution to rein in his attempt to eliminate the checks and balances that are provided by having three distinct and separate branches of government?

I urge you to BLOCK confirmation of these unfit nominees...ALL OF THEM! Remember the oath you took when you were elected to serve in Washington, D.C.: “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
