LARNED — Wesley Joe Johnson, 56, passed away Sept. 1, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

He was born July 4, 1968 in Larned, the son of Marvin Dean and Linda L. Belt Johnson.

A lifetime area resident he was a federal engineer for the United States Army and served two tours in Iraq. He was a 1986 Larned High School graduate, attended Larned Independent Baptist Church, member of American Veterans Motorcycle club in Wichita. He enjoyed 4-Wheeling, fixing cars, fishing, watching Kansas City Chiefs football, playing video games, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include mother, Linda (Keith Davis) Hughes, Otis; his children and grandchildren, Kendra Hamblin, Hudson and Autumn, Emporia; Kaci Hamblin, Holtyn, McPherson; Josh Hamblin, Salina; Peyton Johnson, Tanley, Aubrey, Wayde and Sawyer, Mount Hope; Brandon Johnson, Allison and Brynleigh, Hutchinson; Alex Brown, Springfield, Mo.; Abigail Brown, Kolby and Jack, Larned; Aimee Johnson, Larned; Anjoelina Johnson, April, Larned; sister, Kay (Will) Keller, Timken; brother, Andrew Hughes, Wichita; and his faithful dog and companion, Louie. He was preceded in death by father, Marvin Johnson; grandparents Lloyd and Leota Belt and Carl and Florence Johnson and uncle, Wesley Belt.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Joshua Shepherd presiding. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in Belpre Cemetery with Military graveside rites.
