Vivian Lynn Pavlacka, 76, passed away Jan. 24, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa, Wichita, Kan. She was born on Aug. 18, 1948, in Beloit, Kan., to Virgil Charles and Helen Ann (Pahls) Mayers. Vivian was married to Dennis Comer. Their union brought three children; they later divorced. On Dec. 31, 1993, she married Jim Pavlacka in Wichita, Kan. He passed in August of 1999.
A lifetime area resident, Vivian was a multi-business owner. She enjoyed going to casinos, reading, gardening, and in her younger years, making stained glass and going to garage sales. Vivian most enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include son, Denny Comer and wife Steffanie of Clearwater; two daughters, Kimberly Porter and husband Todd of Wichita, and Kristey Andrews and husband Todd of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Porter and husband Grant Peevyhouse, Aly Fink and husband Caleb, Alexys Porter Bilka and husband Miles, Jake Andrews, Belle Andrews, Daylen Reeves, and Kenzie Reeves; one great grandchild, Taytum Fink; two brothers, Joe Mayers of Great Bend, and John Mayers and wife Marie of Albert; two sisters, Virigina Ramey and husband Rex of Great Bend, and Barbara File and husband Allyn of Beloit; two sisters-in-law, Roxanne Mayers of Great Bend, and Jolene Mayers of Lawrence; and former husband, Dennis Comer of Albert. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents; and two brothers, Steven Mayers and Frank Mayers.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
