LARNED — Roger Lee Haberman, 90, passed away Dec. 20, 2024 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 23, 1934 in Larned; the son of Emil August and Hulda Ruth Boese Haberman. A lifetime area resident, he was a Soil Scientist for the USDA Soil Conversation Service.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. Roger was a proud Kansas State University graduate and longtime alumni.
On Dec. 28, 1957 he married Janice Nicholson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. She passed away in 2000.
Survivors include five daughters, Terri Torres, Salina, Sheri Haberman, Vancouver, Wash., Lori Haldy, Ketchikan, Alaska, Leah (Lee) Gavre, Garrison, Neb., and Lisa (Mark) Kimitsuka, Kent, Wash.; two brothers, Bob (Elsie) Haberman, Meade and Don Haberman, Lacey, Wash.; a sister, Betty (Gary) Hulsey, Larned; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29th at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Welcome Inn Senior Center, in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
