PINE RIVER, Minn. — Robert George Gorman passed into heaven on July 14, 2021 in Milaca, Minn., at Elim Care and Rehab Center after a brief illness.
Bob was born April 9, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Matilda Goble Gorman and George Saunders Gorman. He married Anita Ludemann on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1954 in Dennison, Iowa. To this marriage came four daughters.
Bob drove truck for many years along with co-owning Hillside Rest Home in Colfax, Iowa from 1961-1972. Bob and Anita also owned Gorman Tarps in Great Bend, Kan. from 1979-1996. They also faithfully attended First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend, where they helped in many areas of ministry. After Anita’s death, Bob married Shirley Bengston on Sept. 20, 2008. They made their home in Pine River, Minn. and faithfully attended Riverview Church.
Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters Deborah (James) Lortz, Sacramento, Calif., Roberta (Kerry) Guthrie, Great Bend, Katherine(David) Beattie, Indianapolis, Ind., and Glenda (Aaron) Goulding, Roseville, Calif. Also Shirley’s children Kathy Bille, Dave Munson, Debbie Troxler, Danelle Johnson, and Eric Bengston. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service was held July 26, 2021 at Riverview Church in Pine River, Minn. A graveside service will be held April 14, 2022 in Great Bend, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Riverview Church in Pine River, Minn. or Encounter Assembly of God Church in Great Bend, Kan.
