ROZEL — Robert David “Bobby” Lemuz, 80, passed away Jan. 3, 2025 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina.
He was born May 13, 1944 in Kinsley, the son of Cirilo Lopez and Josefa Marquez Lemuz.
A lifetime area resident he was a pump operator for Northern Natural. He was a graduate of Fort Hays State University; member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he enjoyed leading the rosary during mass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Parish Council, Rozel Lions Club, and a past member of Larned Noon Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, gardening, singing, traveling to Colorado to the mountains, and collecting beer steins. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and in his high school years played football and ran track.
Survivors include two brothers, Isabel “Tony” (Linda) Lemuz, and Isaac (Sherry) Lemuz, both of Larned; two sisters, Helen Asher and Louise Pierce, both of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Lawrence Lemuz, Frank Lemuz, Gonsalo (Steve) Lemuz, Jesse Lemuz Sr., Andres Lemuz, Luis Lemuz, and Luciano Lemuz; three sisters, Angela Rayla, Mary Del Hierro, and Ramona Palleschi.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Bob Schremmer presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
