Mary Elizabeth Jones, 87, passed away Oct. 27, 2024, at University of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend Campus, Great Bend, Kan. She was born on Oct. 2, 1937, in Edgerton, Mo., to Donald and Addie (DeMoss) Cook. On Oct. 8, 1955, she married William “Bill” Jones in Edgerton, Mo. He passed on April 9, 2006.

A resident of Great Bend since 1957, Mary was the bookkeeper and office manager for the family businesses, Bill Jones Welding and M&B Trucking and Supply. She was an active member of the Central Baptist Church, and member of the ABW and White Cross. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening - especially her flowers, a pet lover, and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include son, Donald Jones and wife Brenda of Great Bend; two daughters, Karen Hickel and husband Dennis, and Kathy Tittel and husband Dwight, all of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Julie, Sarah, and William Jones; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Thomas of Edgerton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lisa Jones; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Doris Cook; brother-in-law, Bernard Thomas; sister-in-law, Velda Roberts; and nephew, Jeffery Roberts.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to sign the register book at Bryant Funeral Home during business hours. Graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Victor Velez presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society or Central Baptist Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
