Marion Elaine Pugh, 97, passed away on Dec. 14, 2022, at Stafford County Hospital in Stafford, Kan. She was born on Jan. 25, 1925 in Chase, Kan. to William and Julia (Gockstetter) Revel. On Jan. 14, 1943, she married Roy Arthur “Art” Pugh in Chase, Kan. He passed on Oct. 6, 2005.
An area resident since 1946, Elaine worked as telephone operator in her younger years before becoming a homemaker. She was a very accomplished artist, especially in oil painting, sharing her talent through teaching art at the Great Bend Rec Center, Art Inc., Barton Community College, and the Cabin, and enjoyed her garden.
Survivors include a son, Randy Pugh of Stafford, Kan.; two daughters, Diane Adams of Mulvane, Kan., and Lexie (Mike) Weiser of Salina, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Rodney Pugh; a grandson, Christopher Pugh; her parents; six brothers, Willis, Glen, Stanley, Wade, Donnie, and Ronnie Revel; and a sister, Bonnie Frazier.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022 at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Vandenburg presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery.
