Marie D. Reifschneider 1928 - 2014

LA CROSSE — Marie D. Reifschneider, 86, La Crosse, died, Nov. 14 at Locust Grove Village in La Crosse. She was born April 5, 1928, at rural Timken, the daughter of Ralph G. and Blanche J. (Smrcka) Holopirek. On Nov. 20, 1947, she married LeRoy Reifschneider at the United Methodist Church, La Crosse. A lifelong resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Reifschneider was a member of the United Methodist Church, La Crosse, where she served as a member of the Communion Committee. She was a member of the Sixty Plus Club, La Crosse, and was the past president of the Bohemian National Cemetery, Timken.
Survivors include: her husband, LeRoy Reifschneider, La Crosse; two sons, Daryl “PeeWee” Reifschneider, and Bruce Reifschneider, and his wife Bernie, both of La Crosse; one daughter, Donna L. Schmidt and her husband Rick, La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Scott Schmidt, Kelly Torrey, Kerri Tuzicka, Michael Reifschneider, Stefanie Griffin, Lacey Reifschneider and Jake Reifschneider; six great-grandchildren, Leah Torrey, Tyson Torrey, Grayson Tuzicka, Maci Reifschneider, Kalli Griffin, and Treyton Griffin; and one brother, Dean Holopirek. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ralph Holopirek, Arthur “Bud” Holopirek, Robert “Bob” Holopirek, and Donnie Holopirek; and four sisters, Dorothy Stejskal, Neva Stejskal, Irene Holopirek and Inez Scheideman.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the United Methodist Church, La Crosse, with the Rev. Janice Farrell and the Rev. Kathy Bannister officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Janousek Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Bohemian National Cemetery, Timken.
