Linda Sue Dirck

Linda Sue Dirck, 81, passed away Jan. 21, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kan. She was born March 13, 1943, in Brookhaven, Miss. to Ollie and Jemmye (Moak) Stringfellow.

Sue married Robert “Bob” Dirck, May 23, 1964, at Petal, Miss. She worked over 25 years for JC Penney’s when they resided in Houston, Texas and Wichita. She retired in 2002, as office manager in the Great Bend location. Sue was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved to read and keep her mind busy with crossword puzzles. Above all, family was her greatest devotion.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert “Bob” Dirck; son, Robert L. Dirck, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Dyer, Ind.; sister, Ann Mooney of Petal, Miss.; grandchildren, Linsey McHenry, Kelsey Kaemmerer, Allyson Dirck; great grandchildren, Tyler Cody McHenry, Braydon Elexander McHenry, William Christensen, Anthony DeGrauwe. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dianna J. Dirck; brothers, Donald Stringfellow and David Stringfellow.

Per Sue’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A graveside service will be held, at a later date, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
