Lance Walters, age 69, passed away Nov. 24, 2020. Lance was born on Feb. 14, 1951, in Manhattan, Kan. to Lloyd “Dutch” and Jan (McDonald) Walters. He married Pam Weigel and they later divorced. He then married Sandy Demel on Sept. 25, 1987, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kan.
Lance lived most of his life in Great Bend, Kan. He owned and operated McDonald Tank & Equipment, Inc. He began working there as a field hand on May 14, 1973. He worked his way up and then took over the business from his grandfather. Lance enjoyed working and anything outdoors, including riding the sand dunes, golfing and spending time at the lake.
Survivors include, his wife, Sandy Walters of the home; a daughter, Jessica Walters, a son, Kory Walters, and a grandson, Oren Walters, all of Great Bend; two brothers, Greg Walters and wife Gail of Siloam Springs, Ark., and John Hill and wife Julie of Olathe, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Randy Walters.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Best Western Inn Courtyard. 2920 10th St., Great Bend. Memorials have been designated to the Kansas Oil & Gas Museum or Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
