Kent Douglas Fuhr 70, passed away at home March 5, 2025. Born Jan. 22, 1955 in Great Bend, Kan., the son of Paul and Eunice (Morgenstern) Fuhr. Graduated from Great Bend High School, Class of 1973 and went to work at a trailer factory in Great Bend and later worked for Doerr’s of Larned. He married Joline Fredrickson, Jan. 26, 1987.
Doug had been the co-owner, with his wife, of several businesses in Great Bend including Fuhr Liquor, The Humidor and Just More Rumors. He had many friends and interests including re-felting pool table tops and helping out with the GB Dart League and the VFW Auxiliary Post #3111.
Doug was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Great Bend and for a short time he enjoyed driving the Noah’s Ark preschoolers safely home in the church van. Doug would always greet you with a huge smile and say “what ‘cha doing!” His smiling face will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Joline; one nephew, Jason Fuhr of Flower Mound, Texas; one niece, Gina French (Chad) of McPherson and numerous great nieces and nephews whom Doug adored. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Fuhr. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, Kan. Memorials are suggest to Noah’s Ark Pre-School/Learning Center or Kansas Soldiers Home, Fort Dodge.
