Kathleen Ann “Kathy” McFarren, 71, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at her home in Great Bend, Kan. She was born on Oct. 29, 1952, in Hoisington, Kan., to Elmer and Elsie (Moeder) Hill, and was lovingly nicknamed “Kitten”. On Dec. 26, 1970, she married Terry McFarren in Goodland, Kan.

A resident of Great Bend for 53 years, Kathy was a homemaker, being very dedicated to having a clean home. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Kathy was an avid reader, and loved her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren, and her dogs, specifically Grace. 

Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Troy McFarren and wife Shelly of Great Bend, and Travis McFarren and wife Marina of Castle Rock, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Trey, Trenton, Camron, Kenda, Tyler, Makayla, Emily and Garrett; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, David Hill and wife Jolene of Great Bend, Peter Hill and wife Jen, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tim Hill and wife Katie of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Channel of Great Bend, and Betsey Edwards and husband John of Wamego; and former sister-in-law, Tina Mallette-Hill of Phoenix, Ariz. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Hill.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Memorials have been designated to Dementia Society of America or American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
