Joseph “Joe” L. Yeager

LARNED — Joseph “Joe” L. Yeager, 73, passed away June 14, 2022 at Via Christi Village in Hays, Kan.

He was born April 6, 1949 in Great Bend, Kan., the son of James and Phyllys Sweetland Yeager.

Moving from Overland Park, Kan., he was an area resident since 2017. He worked in manufacturing with a career ranging from welding and plastics production to design and sales. Joe was a lifelong artist, focusing on photography, screen printing, and woodwork. He was a member of the Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps of Great Bend, Kan. from 1965 to 1970, marching in the corps’ color guard and rifle squad. Joe also served on the corps’ instructional staff during the early 1970’s.

Survivors include his son, Patrick Yeager, Riva, Md.; brother, Jeff (Jan) Yeager, Omaha, Neb.; ex-wife, Joyce, Pasadena, Md.; two granddaughters, Audrey and Lucie; two nieces, Leah (Michael) Yeager Schmit, Omaha, Neb., and Laura Yeager, Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Phyllys Yeager.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Larned Cemetery with Pastor Jarred Smith presiding.
