John Randall Lampe, age 59, passed away April 10, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born Nov. 26, 1961, in Wichita, Kan. to Wendell and Carolyn Sue (Beal) Lampe. He married Lenora Hayes on Aug. 8, 1987, in Great Bend. 

A lifetime Great Bend resident, John was previously a banker for First National Bank, Great Bend and Peoples State Bank, Ellinwood. Most recently, he served as Business Administrator, for 16 years, for the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility until 2017. 

John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Great Bend Noon Lions Club, and served as treasurer for the Kansas Correctional Association, and was a graduate of the Kansas Department of Corrections Leadership Development Academy, and the Great Bend Leadership Conference. John enjoyed golf, traveling, and family vacations. John also held a passion for planes and aviation, and had obtained his pilots license. He was an avid KU fan and loved spending his time outdoors. John especially loved spending time with his children. 

John is survived by his wife, Lenora Lampe of the home; one son, Cameron Lampe of Shoreview, Minn.; one daughter, Taylor Lampe and fiancé Drew Fitzgerald of Lawrence; a sister, Kerry J. Lampe of Great Bend; a step-sister Jill Herald of Denver, Colo.; a step-brother, Bruce Huss and wife Karen of Wichita. He was proceeded in death by his father, Wendell Lampe; and his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and O.W. Huss. 

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Bryant Funeral home, with family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Barbara Jones and Reverend Dick Ogle presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the ALS Association or the American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
