John H. Delgado, 77, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at his home in Great Bend. He was born May 22, 1943, in Great Bend the son of Julian and Alberta (Gutierrez) Delgado.
John was a life time resident of Great Bend. He started working in the oil field and then worked at different jobs. He was a member of the Eagles and St. Rose Catholic Church. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. John enjoyed fishing, collecting junk, county music and western movies. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include Marcia French of the home; his children, Deana Hunt of Quinlan, Texas, John (Stefanie) Delgado Jr., and Mark Delgado all of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Frank Delgado, Guy “Beaver” (Terri) Delgado and Alexander (Tracey Klima) Delgado, all of Great Bend; two sisters, Julia Ann (Don) Jones of Hutchinson, and Martha Croy of Seagoville, Texas; eight grandchildren, Luke, Ashley, Jonathan, John Jr., Ryan, Zak, Zane, and Zan; four great grandchildren, Audrey, Lacey, Luke, and Emmett; his loyal dogs Poncho and Baby Girl; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Roberta Delgado; his grandparents, Vincent and Alejandra Gutierrez, and Manuel and Maria Delgado; a son-in-law, Andy Hunt; a sister-in-law, Gwini Delgado; and a brother-in-law, Bill Croy.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may come to Bryant Funeral Home to leave condolences and sign the memorial book Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at Great Bend Cemetery with Father Don Bedore presiding. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be given to either Kans for Kids or the Colden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
