JoAnn Cameron, 87, died Nov. 10 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1925, at Tonkawa, Okla., the daughter of William David and Olive DeLyte (McNeil) Rowe. She married Fred Lorn Cameron on Dec. 25, 1943, at Dodge City. He died June 22, 1987. JoAnn was a Great Bend resident since 1962, coming from Ponca City, Okla. She was a Nurse’s Aide and lab tech for St. Rose Hospital and CKMC. She also worked for Great Bend Music. She enjoyed playing the organ during the holiday season at JC Penney.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God and the American Legion Argonne Post 180 Auxiliary, both of Great Bend, and was active in the Rainbow Girls.
Survivors include one son, Terry Cameron of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Connie Cameron of Winder, Ga.; two grandchildren, Brooke Gossage of Denver, Colo., and Tyler Cameron of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Cameron, a brother, Jack N. Rowe, and a sister, Vicki Brucciani.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. J.P. McCamey officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will be at Great Bend Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to Kans for Kids may be made in care of the funeral home.
