James Richard “J.R.” Meyeres, 75, passed away July 5, 2024, at Azria Health Great Bend. He was born Feb. 8, 1949, at Great Bend, to Rudolph and Alice (Suchy) Meyeres.

J.R., a lifetime resident of Great Bend, was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and enjoyed fishing hunting, yard work, flower gardening, and above all, sitting on his deck and watching the world go by. A mechanic by trade and a tinkerer at heart, J.R. worked most recently at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center as the head of maintenance for 20 years, and previously at the JC Penney auto center.

Survivors include his sister Linda Piland of Great Bend; brother Tim Meyeres of West Berlin, N.J.; son, Brian Trudeau and wife Misty of Great Bend; daughter, Angela Garcia and husband Hondo of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Alex, Tony, Carlos, Marissa, Khloe, and twins Kenneth and Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, David Meyeres; sister, Pat Adams; nephew Terry Piland; and longtime companion, Angela (Hanks) Collier.
