ELLINWOOD — James Donald Grubb, a lifelong resident of Ellinwood, Kan., was born on Dec. 14, 1957, at St. Rose church in Great Bend, Kan. He peacefully passed away on Monday, Oct. 2, 2022, in Andover, Kan. He was the beloved son of Samuel D. Grubb and Dortha V. Carver Grubb, and his presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
Throughout his life, Jim’s unwavering dedication was evident as he committed over four decades to various fields, including oil, gas, carpentry, and industries.
In Jim’s youth he loved the outdoors. He was a member of his father’s, Samuel Grubbs boy scout troop in Ellinwood. The Boy Scouts taught him the skills needed to camp, love of nature, and technical aspects of working on mechanical equipment.
Most of all Jim loved to talk about his family and how they were doing, seldom mentioning himself. Even toward the end of his life he was making sure others were taken care of and not worrying about himself.
Jim was preceded in death by both his parents, Samuel D. Grubb, mother Dortha (Virginia) (Carver, Grubb, and Brother 1 LT ret Daniel D. Grubb. Survivors include, wife Teresa Grubb (Ensminger), Andover, Kan., son Gary Grubb, Great Bend; daughter Judy Grubb, Great Bend; sisters Sammie Lou Reif (Grubb) and Melvin Reif of Great Bend, Kan., Linda Sue Ewing (Grubb) and Donald Ewing of Chase, Kan., LTC ret Noel D. Grubb and Kristin Grubb (Lutz) of Stroudsburg, Pa.
A private remembrance service was held Oct. 4th with family. A graveside service will be set at a future date. Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kan.
