Elmer Paul Boger 1920-2015

HUTCHINSON — Elmer Paul Boger, 94, passed away on April 28, 2015 of natural causes at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
Elmer was born in Hoisington to Paul and Emelia (Stettinger) Boger on Sept. 7, 1920. He grew up on his family farm outside Hoisington. Elmer graduated from Hoisington High School in 1940, and then continued to run the farm. He raised cattle and harvested wheat until moving into Hutchinson of the age of 85. Elmer was a salt-of-the-earth farmer and his passion was living off the land.
He is survived by his brother Lester Boger, Hutchinson; a nephew, Dale Boger and wife Karen, La Jolla, Calif.; a niece, Marlene Showalter, Topeka; and a great-nephew, Thomas Showalter, Kansas City, Mo.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Emelia Boger.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family present from  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson.
Graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2 in Hoisington Cemetery with Garry Dassow presiding.
