2/18/1954 - 7/16/24  Don was born in Sterling, Kan. to Alvin and June Moeller. He spent his childhood in Albert, Kan. and graduated from Otis-Bison High School in Otis, Kan. He had the best memories of growing up in rural Kansas and spending time at his grandparents farm in Nekoma, Kan. with his aunts, uncles and cousins and spending time with his childhood friends around the small town of Albert.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents George and Maude Kershner, who had a strong influence on his childhood; his aunts and uncles and a young cousin. Don is survived by his wife, Lynda; his two sons Brit (Stacey), Shane and his granddaughter Mila; Shane’s daughter Mila’s mother Shannon who has always been like a daughter to Don and Lynda; her husband Forrest and his two children Riley and Kyla. He is also survived by a son, Tim Riggs (Ivy) and daughter Tina Kastle (Jeff) from an earlier marriage and Tristan, Tanner, Cassidy and Gracie, the children from those marriages.

Don was a mechanic while living in Kansas and worked for Xcel Energy for 34 years before retirement.

After contracting COVID in 2022 he developed long COVID with lung disease and liver disease being a complication.

The family wants to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Pathways Palliative and Hospice Care, National Jewish Health, Intermountain Health St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies for their compassionate and excellent care of Don through his illnesses and passing. Please consider making a memorial to any of these in memory of Don.
