David Francis Keeler, 66, passed away Nov. 13, 2023, at the University of Kansas Health System – Great Bend Campus. He was born Jan. 16, 1957, at Great Bend, to Darrell and Edith (Schwartz) Keeler.
A lifetime Great Bend resident, David was a 40-year dedicated worker for the City of Great Bend in the street and park departments, most recently working at the Great Bend Cemetery. In his early years, he worked for Don’s Food Market and Great Bend Manufacturing. David was a motorcycle and gun enthusiast, and was considered extremely handy, especially being accomplished in concrete work and woodworking. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, and time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include, his mother, Edith Keeler; his longtime companion, Cheryl Turner; a sister, Nancy Crawford; two nephews, Anthony Crawford and Alex Crawford; a niece, Emily Crawford; great nephew, Jayden Crawford and great niece, Maddie Beagle, all of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Keeler; and a brother-in-law, Mike Crawford.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Vandenburg presiding. Interment will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Seward, with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Memorials have been designated to Heartland Cancer Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
