Calista Marie Stuart, 88, died Nov. 13 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born June 15, 1926, at Barton County, the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Theisen) Seyfert. She married Herbert Stuart in 1943, and later divorced. A lifetime Barton County resident, Calista was a bookkeeper, working for Cheyenne Drug, Van-Jo Dairy, Kottwitz Motor Company, Bob Reiter Chevrolet, Ron Miller Accounting, and most recently M & F Plumbing Heating and Air.
Calista was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society, Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 3111, and Life Member of American Legion Argonne Post 180, all of Great Bend. She was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Larkin and husband Ray of Hoisington; one sister, Romona Stukey of Great Bend; one brother, Harlan Seyfert of Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Kenneth Larkin of Alexandria, Va., Katherine Schauf and husband Gerald of Beaver, and Keith Larkin of Olathe; and five great-grandchildren, Brian Schauf, Jessica Schauf, Jordan Larkin, Bailey Larkin and Maya Larkin. She was preceded in death by brother, Norbeith Seyfert.
Funeral Mass service will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, Nov. 18, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington. Altar society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Father Anselm Eke and Father Don Bedore will be the officiants. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, Hoisington. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
