A Timken man who fell asleep while driving Tuesday was transported to Hays Medical Center with possible injuries. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jimi Wayne Hill, 26, was driving south on U.S. 183 in Ellis County at 2:53 p.m. on Nov. 5 and fell asleep. The 2006 Honda Accord he was driving went off the road near South County Line Road. The driver overcorrected and the car crossed the highway to the east, where it struck a utility pole.
Hill was transported after he complained of pain. The car was removed to Rush Center by Five Star Amoco.
