A Russell man who was allegedly fleeing from law enforcement in a stolen pickup at a high rate of speed Thursday night was injured when the pickup went off a Russell County road and crashed. Kansas Highway Patrol reports Daniel W. Adams, 47, was taken to Russell Regional Hospital with what was believed to be minor injuries.
The crash occurred at 10:11 p.m. Thursday on 15th St. Road, 3.6 miles west of U.S. 281. Adams was driving a 2011 Ford F-250 and failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup went off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a ravine roadside. Adams was not wearing a seat belt.
