ELLIS County — The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Russell woman was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Ellis County. 

The crash occurred at approximately 4 p.m. at mile marker 162 on I-70, 3.5 miles east of U.S. 183.

According to the KHP crash log, Cindy Ohlson, 71, of Russell, was injured as the 2019 Ford Edge she was driving eastbound on I-70 developed issues and was pulling over with hazard lights engaged. The eastbound 2019 Volvo semi-trailer driven by Carl Presley, 73, of Tonganoxie, then struck the Ohlson vehicle. 

Ohlson was transported to Hays Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. Presley was uninjured. 

Both drivers were wearing safety restraints, the KHP reported.
